You’ve tried ChatGPT. You typed “write me a Facebook post,” got something bland, and went back to doing it yourself. The problem isn’t the tool. It’s the prompt.
Good prompts follow a simple formula: Role + Context + Task + Format. Tell the AI who to be, give it your situation, say exactly what you want, and say how it should look.
Here are 10 prompts you can use today:
- 30-day social calendar. “Act as a social media manager for [business type] in [city]. My ideal customer is [describe]. Create a 30-day posting calendar…”
- Calm reply to an angry customer. “A customer wrote this: [paste]. Draft a reply that acknowledges their frustration…”
- Quote follow-up sequence. “A prospect named [name] asked for a quote for [service] and went quiet. Write 4 follow-ups…”
- FAQ builder. “Here are the questions customers ask me most…”
- Job post. “Write a job post for a [role] at my [business] in [city]. Pay: [range]…”
- Weekly plan from a brain dump. “Here is everything on my plate this week: [paste]. Sort it into Must do, Should do, Delegate and Drop…”
- SOP writer. “Write an SOP for [task] at my [business]…”
- Spot what to automate. “Here is a list of the tasks I do every week and how long each takes…”
- Bad-review reply. “Draft a public reply to this review…”
- Monthly business review. “Here are my numbers for the month…”
Two rules: check every fact before you publish, and never paste customer card numbers, passwords or private health information into an AI tool.
